The Federation of Hellenic Medical Societies of North America, Inc. is supporting its individual Hellenic Medical Society members and is involved in various educational and philanthropic projects
We congratulate the Hippocratic Institute of Kos (President Dr. Nikolaos Papantoniou) and the Global Doctors' Hippocratic Institute (President Dr. George Patoulis, Secretary Dr. Antonios Polydorou) who are organizing the Annual Hippocratic Conference October 12-19, 2025 where outstanding medical students from Greece and other countries will receive awards and participate in the Hippocratic Oath Ceremony.
In October 2025, the Federation is sponsoring a teleconference on Greek citizenship for doctors of Hellenic descent in collaboration with the Consulate of the Hellenic Republic in New York.
Furthermore, we are supporting the Hellenic Minister of Labor and Social Security Hon. Niki Kerameus in the REBRAIN seminar for Greek doctors practicing in the United States and Canada who can return and work in Greece in their specialty with great tax incentives. Leading representatives from all major Greek private hospitals will be available to interview Greek physicians at the Marriott Marquis Hotel (Times Square) on Sunday, December 7, 2025. Individual Hellenic medical societies in Philadelphia (Dr. Hadjiliadis), Detroit (Dr. Lucas-Vouyiouklakis), Boston (Dr. Kales), Southern California (Dr. Vasilomanolakis) , Montreal (Dr. Varvarikos) and Toronto (Dr. Vastis) are sponsoring Greek medical students in observerships. The cardiologist Dr. Elias Iliadis in southern New Jersey and the dermatologist Dr. Gregory Papadeas in Denver, Colorado are examples of Hellenic physicians teaching at their institutions visiting Greek students and residents.
The Hellenic Bioscientific Association USA and its President Harvard Neuroscience Professor Dr. Alexandra Touroutoglou have been co-sponsoring with the Federation educational seminars in the United States and Greece.
In collaboration with information technology expert and President of the Federation of Hellenic Culture of the Southwest, Mr. Yannis Remediakis, the Hellenic Medical Federation is organizing teleconferences on Hippocrates and co-sponsoring the Birthright Hellas summer programs.
In November 2025, Professor of Obstetrics-Gynecology, Dr. Antony Vintzileos will be speaking at a teleconference on the Hippocratic Oath, a chapter of Mr. Remediakis' new digital compendium on Hellenic Philosophy.
The very successful FREE summer educational Birthright Hellas programs for Hellenic youth aged 18 to 28 are being planned for Mystras, Peloponnesos in conjunction with the Hellenic Open University and for Thessaloniki at the YMWCA facilities.
